The Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) was setup by IIM, Ahmedabad in 2001 and is supported by Government of Gujarat as well as the National Innovation Foundation. Since then, a host of organizations, professionals, academicians and networking partners within India and across the globe have been closely associated with the initiatives of CIIE like the Wadhwani Foundation (set up by IT entrepreneur in Silicon Valley, USA) and the Department of Science and Technology, overnment of India.

The Centre aims at Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development through Research, Incubation, Consultancy and Training Hi-Tech and Mass Impact Technologies to enhance welfare and competitiveness of the Indian Economy.

The Centre supports commercialization of top innovations by scientists, innovators, researchers and entrepreneurs identified from across country through various programs.

The Teams apply with their unique technology idea for the program which interests them. The Program management team then runs a basic analysis on the concept and the innovation, checks for its viability, patentability, commercial value and uniqueness. The application is further analyzed by a panel of Industry experts, venture capitalists, marketing experts and the Executive Committee of CIIE.

iAccelerator – A four month, residential, startup camp for first time entrepreneurs in the Internet and Mobile Domain, iAccelerator literally helps in accelerating the enterprises in a very short time by providing hands on support through Mentorship, Financial investment, consulting and Network access. The year CIIE has inducted 10 teams into this program. Post this program, the centre is looking at incubating at least 5 of them. The winter editions of this program are scheduled to happen from the 1st of December in Bangalore.

Renewable Energy Search [RE-Search] – The centre has partnered with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy on this program. The basic idea behind this program is to identify, encourage and incubate entrepreneurial ideas aimed at solving the energy crisis through use of existing clean energy related research.
